Professor Yun-Hi Kim has devoted her research to developing core technologies for organic semiconductor materials, producing world-class research achievements and making significant contributions to strengthening the technological competitiveness of next-generation display and environmentally friendly energy industries.
In the field of high-efficiency, high-color-purity OLEDs, she has developed original molecular design technologies spanning blue fluorescent, phosphorescent, TADF, and MR-TADF emitters, as well as green, deep-red, and near-infrared emitters, successfully realizing next-generation displays with ultra-high color purity.
Most recently, using machine learning-based MR-TADF material design, she developed a material for deep-blue OLED devices with an external quantum efficiency of 41.3%, achieving world-leading performance. She is also expanding her research into next-generation energy and electronic materials by developing organic solar cell materials that combine power conversion efficiency with long-term stability, enhancing the charge mobility of high-performance organic semiconductors, and developing environmentally friendly solution-processing technologies.
In addition, Professor Kim has translated her research findings into practical achievements through industry–academia collaboration while continuing to contribute to the training of specialists who meet industry needs and to broader public engagement with science and technology. To date, she has published at least 542 SCIE-indexed papers, received more than 22,700 citations, and achieved an h-index of 71, demonstrating exceptional scholarly impact. She has also filed or obtained a total of 211 patents, including 49 international patents, and has contributed significantly to Korea’s competitiveness in science and technology and the advancement of related industries through technology transfer.
