The event gathered approximately 150 attendees, including award recipients, academia and industry leaders, and students.

This year’s Toray Science and Technology Awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in the fields of chemistry and materials science, were presented to Professor Kim Jong-Seung of Korea University (Dept. of Chemistry) and Professor Cha Hyung-Joon of POSTECH (Dept. of Chemical Engineering). Each recipient received a prize of KRW 100 million.

The Fellowships, granted to support creative research by emerging scientists, were awarded to Professor Park Yoon-su of KAIST (Dept. of Chemistry), Professor Son Chang-Yoon of Seoul National University (School of Chemistry), Professor Min-Gyu Kim of Inha University (Dept. of Chemistry), Professor Cho Soo-Yeon of Sungkyunkwan University (School of Chemical Engineering), and Professor Cho Him-chan of KAIST (School of Materials Science and Engineering). Each fellowship recipient will receive KRW 150 million in research funding over three years.
