TAK releases sustainability report with willingness to strengthen ESG management
Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) announced that it has released the "2024 Sustainability Report" containing ESG management performance for the first time since its foundation.
In order to strengthen ESG management and communicate transparently with stakeholders, TAK voluntarily published a sustainability report despite being an unlisted company and released it on the company's website after third-party verification by the Korea Management Certification Institute.
TAK suggested reducing greenhouse gas emissions and responding to climate change, practicing human rights respect management and building a sustainable supply chain, and securing transparent governance as ESG strategy directions, and pushing ahead with three major business tasks: "eco-friendly products," "eco-friendly technology," and "recycle."
In particular, it is implementing a circular economy by collecting waste film from customers from 2023, utilizing demultiplexing recycling technology, reproducing it as yarn, and using it to make customers' work clothes. By continuously developing eco-friendly products and technologies, it has also achieved achievements such as acquiring bronze grades of EcoBadis, a global recycled standard (GRS) certification, securing a carbon information database of products, and establishing a LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) system. In addition, a sustainability committee was established to secure a management system from an ESG perspective.
The report was prepared in accordance with the disclosure standards of GRI, an international reporting standard for sustainability management, and SASB, a U.S. sustainability accounting standard, and secured accuracy and reliability through third-party verification, and added meaning by using ESG pictures drawn by children of executives and employees as illustrations.
CEO Kim Young-seop said, "We will make efforts to accelerate ESG management in all sectors to expand sustainable future competitiveness and grow together with all stakeholders."
